Volvos are built to last, and the owners who drive them tend to keep them for the long haul. Our job is to make sure yours stays in the kind of condition it deserves.
Euro Centre Automotive is a European vehicle specialist workshop in Airport West. We service and repair the full modern Volvo range, from XC40 through to XC90, including the T8 Recharge plug-in hybrids. Logbook servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, all using genuine or OEM parts and Volvo-approved oils.
Euro Centre Auto
Modern Volvos have moved a long way from the bricks of the 80s and 90s. The SPA and CMA platforms brought Drive-E turbo engines, eight-speed automatics, sophisticated electronics, and, in the Recharge models, high-voltage hybrid systems. These cars need a mechanic with the right diagnostic equipment and a proper understanding of how the systems talk to each other.
We focus only on European vehicles. That means our tools, our training, and our parts supply are all geared toward cars like yours, not general fleet work. When you drop your Volvo off with us, it sits alongside other Volvos, Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, and Land Rovers, being worked on by people who see these vehicles every day.

I can not speak highly enough about Ziz
Your work and honesty is unremarkable.. ill be definitely coming back to service my car. Thank you so much getting my car back to brand new!
I have owned two VW Golfs recently, my first a Mk5 GTI which needed some well overdue servicing when I purchased it, I was highly recommended to Ziz from a colleague.
I was near this shop when my car wouldn’t start. The owner past by and helped me. If he can go out of his way to help someone who isn’t paying, think about how well he must treat his paying customers. A small act of kindness, but it deserves a review. Thank you again!!
I’ve been going to Euro Centre Automotive for years, and they always take good care of my car. They do a great job with regular maintenance and fixing any problems that come up.
The team at Euro Centre Automotive are very professional the workshop is extremely clean and car services are very well priced. Highly recommend
Their genuine approach and dedication to customer care are exemplary, and I look forward to continuing my relationship with them. Thank you once again for an outstanding service experience. Thanks again boys
Delighted to find a very well priced, professional and friendly servicer to change my VW timing belt. Quote was honoured and was very reasonable. Had the offer and use of a loan car during the day which was essential for work
Zid is a legend. One of the best mechanics in Melbourne. Finished the job on time. Good value for money. I am really happy with his work. I will definitely book him in again. Highly recommended

Every car i’ve owned has been horrible unreliable so i’ve been to a fair few mechanics and Euro Centre is by far the best one. they’re honest which is hard to find, friendly and the prices are reasonable.Â
Every Volvo platform has its known weak points. Here are the ones we see most often in our Airport West workshop.
This is one of the most common issues across BMW engines, from the N20 four-cylinder through to the N55 and B58 inline-six. The rubber valve cover gasket hardens and cracks over time due to heat cycling, leading to visible oil seepage, a burning smell, and potentially oil reaching ignition components. The oil filter housing gasket (OFHG) follows a similar pattern. If oil from a leaking OFHG drips onto the drive belt, it can cause the belt to slip or snap, which risks more serious engine damage.
The newer Drive-E four cylinder petrol engines run direct injection, so fuel never washes over the intake valves. Carbon builds up over time and you feel it as a rough idle, misfires, and lost power. We clean the valves and check the timing chain and tensioner at the same time if the kilometres warrant it.
Most modern Volvos run the Aisin AWF8F35 eight speed auto. Volvo originally called it sealed for life. In practice, the fluid breaks down, and by around 80,000 to 100,000 km you will often feel harsh shifts or hesitation. A proper fluid and filter change makes a real difference to how long the gearbox lasts.
Volvo front ends work hard and the bushings wear. If you are hearing knocks over bumps or the steering feels a bit loose, this is usually where it starts. We inspect the whole front end and only replace the components that are actually worn.
Sensus infotainment glitches, pilot assist calibration, and battery related module errors all need manufacturer level diagnostic tools to read properly. A generic code reader will not get you the full picture. We run full system scans and address the fault at the module level.
The plug-in hybrid Volvos add a high-voltage battery, a rear electric motor, and a separate cooling circuit for the battery. We carry out hybrid health checks, high-voltage system inspection, and battery coolant service.
Full manufacturer schedule servicing with genuine or OEM filters and Volvo-approved oils. Diagnostic scan, safety inspection, fluid checks, and a stamped service book. Your warranty stays intact.
Manufacturer level diagnostic equipment to read fault codes, run module health checks, and watch live data. When something is wrong, we find the cause before we quote on fixing it.
Oil trap replacement, intake valve cleaning, timing chain work, turbocharger repairs, cooling system repairs, and fuel system servicing. The mechanical repairs Volvos typically need, done with the correct parts and oils.
Volvo braking is tied into the safety and driver assist systems. We service and replace pads, rotors, callipers, and brake fluid, and carry out the electronic calibration some repairs require.
Aisin 8-speed and older Geartronic automatics, AWD haldex coupling fluid service, driveshaft inspection, and clutch work. All transmission types covered.
Control arms, bushings, shocks, power steering, cooling, alternators, auto electrical, and air conditioning. The everyday repairs that keep the car on the road.
We fit genuine Volvo parts and OEM equivalents sourced from the same suppliers Volvo uses. Oils, transmission fluids, and coolants all meet Volvo’s own specifications. This keeps your warranty intact and your service history clean.

Not sure if yours is covered? Give us a call.
Buying a used Volvo? We run a full pre-purchase inspection covering the diagnostic scan, service history review, engine and transmission health, AWD system check, suspension, brakes, tyres, and any signs of prior accident repair. You get a clear written report before you hand over your money.
We are a VicRoads licensed roadworthy tester, so we can also issue roadworthy certificates for registration transfers.
Call the workshop, tell us what is going on with the car, and we will get you booked in. You will get an itemised quote before any work starts, and you will speak to someone who actually knows Volvos.
Yes. The full modern range from XC40 through to XC90 and the T8 Recharge plug-in hybrids, plus most older platforms where parts and diagnostic access are still available. If you are not sure about yours, give us a call.
No. We carry out logbook servicing to Volvo’s manufacturer requirements, using genuine or approved parts and Volvo-specified oils, and we stamp your service book. Your warranty stays fully intact.
Most modern Volvos are every 12 months or 15,000 km, whichever comes first. If you do a lot of short city trips or heavy stop-start driving, the car may benefit from more frequent attention. We will advise on the right schedule for your model and how you use it.
On the Aisin 8-speed, yes, we think so. Volvo originally called it sealed for life, but the fluid degrades and a proper fluid and filter change around 80,000 to 100,000 km significantly extends the gearbox’s life. For cars driven heavily in traffic or used for towing, we often suggest earlier.
A small amount of oil use is within Volvo’s tolerance. Heavier consumption on the five cylinder turbo engines usually points to PCV oil trap failure. Bring it in, we will diagnose it and tell you whether it needs repair now or just monitoring.
Lower, with the same quality of parts and oils. You will get an itemised quote before any work starts so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
