Why Melbourne Porsche Owners Come to Us

A lot of what makes a modern Porsche tick is shared engineering with the broader Volkswagen Group. Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera sit on the same MLB platform as the Audi Q7, Q5, and A6, using many of the same engine families, transmissions, and electronic architectures. That matters because our team has direct factory training from Volkswagen Group dealerships. When a Cayenne comes in with a transfer case fault or a Macan with a timing chain rattle, we have seen the underlying engineering before.

For the sports car side, the 911 and Boxster/Cayman models share their own architecture, but the diagnostic platform, electrical systems, and mechanical principles overlap significantly with what we work on every day across the Audi and broader VAG range.

We do not work on everything. We work on European vehicles, and we invest in the equipment and parts supply to do it properly.

Our Services

Common Porsche Issues We Handle

Every Porsche platform has its known weak points. These are the ones we see most often in the workshop.

Cayenne and Panamera Transfer Case Wear

The transfer case on earlier Cayenne and Panamera models is known to wear over time, showing up as driveline vibration, a rumble from underneath, or error messages on the dash. We diagnose the condition of the transfer case and advise on fluid service, clutch replacement within the unit, or full replacement where required.

Macan PDK and Transmission Faults

The seven speed PDK in the Macan and Cayenne can develop harsh shifts, hesitation, or mechatronic faults if the fluid is not serviced at the correct intervals. Porsche’s service schedule calls for a fluid and filter change, and we handle it with the correct Porsche-approved fluid and a proper filter replacement.

911 and Boxster/Cayman Coolant and Water Pump Issues

Plastic coolant components, water pumps, and coolant pipe fittings on the flat six engines can fail over time. Symptoms are coolant loss, a sweet smell under the car, or overheating warnings. We inspect the entire cooling system and replace failed components with OEM parts before they take the engine with them.

Carbon Buildup on Direct Injection Engines

The direct injection engines across the modern Porsche range develop carbon deposits on the intake valves. You feel it as rough idling, misfires, and a drop in response. We clean the intake valves and inspect the fuel system to restore engine performance.

Carbon Buildup on Intake Valves

Like most modern direct injection engines, BMW’s N20, N55, and B58 are prone to carbon deposits forming on the intake valves. Without fuel washing over the valves (as in older port-injected engines), carbon accumulates and restricts airflow. This causes rough running, misfires, and reduced performance. We perform intake valve cleaning to restore proper engine response.

Suspension and Air Suspension Faults

Cayenne and Panamera air suspension systems develop leaks over time, usually from the air struts or compressor. Symptoms are a car that sits low overnight, warning lights, or rough ride quality. We diagnose the system and replace worn components with quality equivalents.

Electrical and PCM Faults

PCM infotainment glitches, module communication errors, and sensor faults on Porsche vehicles need manufacturer-level diagnostic tools. We run full system scans, identify the fault at the module level, and address it properly rather than clearing codes and hoping.

What Your Porsche Service Includes

Logbook Servicing to Porsche Schedule

Servicing to Porsche’s manufacturer schedule using approved oils and genuine or OEM filters. Every service includes a full PIWIS-level diagnostic scan, brake and safety inspection, and a stamped service book. Minor, major, and interim services are covered, including the longer interval items like spark plugs, brake fluid, and coolant when they fall due.

PIWIS-Grade Diagnostics

Porsche electronics need Porsche-capable diagnostic equipment. We read fault codes across every control module, check live data, and run the factory-level tests needed for things like PCM calibration, chassis module coding after replacement, and reading the service-only fault memory. Guessing at parts replacement is how people end up paying for things they did not need.

Engine and Cooling Work

Water pump and coolant pipe replacement on the flat six engines, carbon cleaning on direct injection intake valves, timing chain work, variable cam timing issues, and turbo repairs on the forced induction variants. These are the engine jobs Porsche owners come to us for most often.

Brakes, Pads, and Brake Fluid Flushes

Porsche braking systems are built to do real work, and most of our Porsche customers drive the car that way. We service pads, rotors, callipers, and brake fluid using quality components matched to the variant, including the ceramic-compatible options where PCCB is fitted. Brake fluid flushes are a standard part of scheduled servicing on these cars.

PDK, Tiptronic, and Transfer Case Work

PDK fluid and filter servicing, Tiptronic servicing on older Cayenne and Panamera models, and transfer case diagnosis and repair on the all-wheel drive variants. The PDK service in particular is one that people skip and regret. We do it to Porsche spec with the correct fluid.

Air Suspension, Chassis, and Auxiliary Systems

Air strut and compressor replacement on Cayenne and Panamera air suspension, PASM damper work, conventional suspension on the sports cars, power steering, cooling, auto electrical, and air conditioning. The everyday repairs that keep a Porsche on the road looking and driving the way it should.

Genuine Parts and Porsche Approved Oils

We fit genuine Porsche parts and OEM equivalents sourced from the same suppliers Porsche uses. Oils, transmission fluids, and coolants all meet Porsche’s own specifications, which keeps your warranty intact and your service history clean.

Inspections & Servicing

Pre-Purchase and Roadworthy Inspections

Buying a used Porsche is a significant investment, and these cars can hide expensive problems that are not obvious on a test drive. Our pre-purchase inspection covers the diagnostic scan, service history review, engine and transmission health, suspension and air suspension (where fitted), brakes, tyres, and any signs of prior accident repair. You get a clear written report before you commit.

We are a VicRoads licensed roadworthy tester, so we can also issue roadworthy certificates for registration transfers.

Frequently Asked Questions

We service the modern water-cooled Porsche range, including 911 (991 and 992), Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and Taycan. For air-cooled 911s and classic Porsches, we recommend a dedicated air-cooled specialist who can give those cars the attention they need.

No. We carry out logbook servicing to Porsche’s manufacturer requirements, using genuine or approved parts and Porsche specified oils, and we stamp your service book. Your warranty stays fully intact.

Most modern Porsches are due for service every 12 months or 15,000 km, whichever comes first. High-performance variants and track-driven cars often benefit from more frequent attention, particularly on brake fluid, engine oil, and transmission fluid. We will advise on the right schedule for your model and how you use it.

Lower, with the same quality of parts and oils. You will get an itemised quote before any work starts so you can see exactly what you are paying for.

We focus on servicing and repairs rather than aftermarket performance modifications. If you are looking to modify the car, we are happy to point you toward a workshop that specialises in Porsche tuning.

Bring it in for a diagnostic scan. Transfer case faults are common on earlier Cayenne and Panamera models, and the earlier we catch it, the more options you have. In some cases, a fluid service is enough. In others, the internal clutch pack or the full unit needs attention.
